Many memories of when my dad would take me here on his work days. From spraying us with a firetruck to introducing me to his coworkers. Evryone here that I have met is a very nice person. We moved out during covid sadly but I do hope I can come back and maybe do some hunting here again.
While the staff was very friendly, the journey to the facility was really a waste of time. Entrance is now $10 per person per day to drive into. Campgrounds extremely rustic; only designated areas in which to park and pitch a tent. If going to hunt, annual permits may be reasonably priced but as a non-hunter I've nothing to compare the $370 rate with.
Wildlife trail had great views of birds of prey water birds etc
Serving as intermediary between visitors and the military-owned bombing range, this small staff works to keep everyone safe. This is not a national park, don't expect their equal treatment. Air Force does what they want, when they want, and no you don't get an explanation of what or why. When the military allows, public has access to about 75,000 acres of undeveloped central FL - there's primitive camping, fishing, hunting, and miles of logging roads. Watch out for cattle and the occasional crazy old man.
Brenda always makes me smile and the employees are always welcoming when I arrive to check in for my rec pass. Thanks!
They're like family to us out here! We love them!
when Brenda works the entrance, she is very knowledgeable, and courteous.
It had great service
