Very peaceful and tranquil. Saw several birds, including an Osprey, Pheasant, and a Belted Kingfisher. Nice level, paved walking path between the entrances, with piers. Take your own chairs and trash bag if you want to hang out because there are no benches or trash cans. There is a port-a-pot for a restroom at one entrance. We got there late in the day and did not explore the dam area.
The kids like to go fishing here. There is plenty of area to stand and fish. It's beautiful and peaceful. Geese season can obviously be a slippery occasion so be careful. Watch when walking along the fishing banks. There are some deep holes here and there. No one wants a broken ankle. There is a black top path straight through that's really nice. There's water on both sides of it and a nice bridge with a sitting area if you want to watch nature or people. It can be busy during peak hours.
Beautiful location. Barely anyone was there. I'll definitely be back with my kayak. Boat launch. Walkway through the middle.
Great lake for bass fishing. Lot of improvements in 2022/2023. Boats with trolling motor only. Pets allowed on leash. Two docks for fishing . New bridge that allows boats canoes or kayaks access to both sides of the lake. Handicap parking. Nice boat ramps. Archery range, also open for hunting seasonal. Overall nice well maintained outdoor recreation area.
Nice and relaxing place to do some fishing. Everyone is very friendly that you come into contact with.
Very nice place to go fishing at or to come and enjoy a nice peaceful place around the lake. We caught catfish, bigmouth bass, and blue gill so far. Few years back we also witnessed a juvenile Eagle take flight. Do come prepared with bug repellent for towards evening, other than that the people I have ever come across there have been very friendly as well. My son and Iove it.
The not so big- but just big enough park to satisfy your fishing fantasy. With an entrance on either half of the lake, and a bridge between these sides it doesn't really matter where you park to get the best spots. A variety of edible mushrooms(as well as even more non-edible!!) Are available around the park for the experienced forager to grab! The views you can take in from the sunrise or sunset is quite nice, on top of it being open 24/7. All around it's a great park for a plethora of outdoor activities.
They have done a lot of work here with obvious improvements including a paved trail between the two lakes and a put in a new bridge since my last visit. You can fish from the shore or off the two floating docks. There is a small boat ramp for public use. (Trolling only) I've personally never caught anything too exciting to brag about but enjoy the atmosphere every time. Just a nice place to visit.
