Wonderful, awesome, great we had lots of fun, can you tell. OK, there is not really a tremendous amount to do in town. There are a few shops, and Alaska has ubiquitous coffee shops, but outside is magic. Take a boat ride, see the glacier, go fishing it's really up to you to find your fun.

We moved up to valdez a little over a year ago, the local people are amazing, it's absolutely beautiful. The public school systems are small and there are local homeschooling groups, both come with great recommendations. the police department and their officers are fair and just, and actually constitutional, which I haven't seen in years honestly. And kids play outside are safe in this town like the lower 48 used to be when I was a kid. There is tons of fishing! And everything from Hiking, camping, being in nature, being around our incredible mountains, dining and nightlife to cruiseships and Halibut and fishing Charters, that people come to experience here. It's also the mecca for Snowboarding where Natural Selection is filmed. Town turns to snowmachines and 4 wheelers in the winter. And the Moose hunting etc takes the cake.

Valdez, Alaska is a charming town that is what dreams are made of. Nicknamed Alaskas Switzerland holds true with a town nestled where the mountains meet the ocean. This place is a treasure that many don't know exists. The town itself has some of the most wonderful people, beautiful art, dedicated guides, and outstanding food. It's definitely a place to put on your bucket list to visit for each season as it offers so many activities season dependent. Walk among the glaciers in the winter or paddle beside them in the summer. World renowned skiing and ice climbing. Take a guide to fish or sightsee the beautiful landscape and wildlife in calm waters. Take a drive from the tips of mountains down through a deep canyon and bask in its never-ending waterfalls. You will not regret visiting this place.

I'm a season worker coming to different parts of Alaska and must say Valdez Alaska is by far the most breath taking with wild life to waterfalls and beautiful mountains. Valdez holds the metal of welcoming and hospitality. Valdez hold history that'll have you ask questions so the museum will be an awesome start. Don't forget to stop by the visitor office for great guidance and coupon.

Pretty cool town. There is a stocked lake in town, best to fish in the early mornings or late evenings. Nice dock. Awesome glacier lake. Either bring your own kayak or do a rental. Self guided rental closes Monday. So worth it, unguided or guided or bring your own kayak
