I did not know they had a hunting area, but I just go for the boating, fishing, and swimming. The beach/ swimming area is awesome but gets packed when the warmer weather approaches. Earlier is better. Same with the boating and during the week is alot less congested at the docks. The fishing is good early in the day or dusk to night. I can't reveal my favorite spot, but I think the north end of the lake gives a better chance of catching fish. Of course everyone has their preference. Oh, sunscreen and lots of water make the day much more pleasant. Have fun and be safe!!!

I fish the shoreline of 36/37 and have had good luck. We've walked trails into the woods a couple of times as well, out of hunting season. The area needs everyone's help in cleaning up the trash. Always saddened by the amount of trash other fishermen leave behind.
