Beautiful trail! Partly shaded and lots of bird watching available. Well cleared for paths. No bathrooms or trash cans available, so come prepared. Some benches along the way, but lots of different trails to explore. Parking is limited as well.
What a wonderful quiet walk. Not a single soul was there at the time. The trail itself is a loop about 1.6 miles long the walk there is .5 the walk back also .5 so altogether a nice quiet 2.6 mile walk of beautiful scenery.
This trail is just beautiful. The beginning is a small trek through sugar sand and sun, but if you can pull through that (it is not very long) you enter the world of the Land Before Time. The Bluffs are beautiful. You can always see Garr or Catfish swimming by, turtles and lush plants. If you have an eagle eye you will see a mom, dad, and teenage bald eagle nesting. You can also hear the owls while on the trails. The sunniest part is the beginning (and end) but the rest is a beautiful forest that smells better than any candle you could ever buy. An experience you wont regret.
My wife and I had a lovely time hiking the Creek Bluffs Loop trail today (5/26/18). The part of the trail that runs along the creek was our favorite but the entire trail is lovely. We encountered a mosquito or two but no ticks. We heard a gator in one of the wet areas but never saw him. There were a lot of deer tracks but we didn't see them either. A Bald Eagle was flying in the distance and plenty of other smaller bird life abounds. I suggest setting up a hammock among the trees along the creek, bring a good book, and relax for awhile - we did. This is a real Polk County gem. Special thanks to The Nature Conservancy for making this available to us. 5/28/18 edit: The day following our visit, we developed multiple unpleasant welts on the lower half of our body that I am quite sure are from chiggers that we never even saw. This is even though we both showered after returning home from the trail. Based on the timing of everything, it appears that the chiggers survived the shower process. I may be wrong on that but I am going to scrub much harder next time! I'll also be using some bug spray around my ankles the next time I hit the trail. Don't let this discourage you. The trail is worth it. You just need to take the proper precautions.
Beautiful prairie! Hiked all day long with boyfriend and dogs. Bring lots of water! Nice long loops and well marked trails. Loops high above tiger creek. Even has benches for your viewing pleasure. Being able to look down at the winding creek is breathtaking!
One of the best Florida trails in the state. It is so stupid that dogs cant come here. We did though lol
I loved this trail. Perfect for summer. The last half is shaded if you go clockwise. There was a scary looking dog at the parking lot, but she ended up being old and really sweet.
One of the best trails in central florida! It's huge with connecting trails! Bring a backpack 🎒 with water and if you have a condition that you need to eat something bring it as well. But please do not litter it our trails!
