Beautiful place for a hike. Most of the trail is a flat gravel trail. In some places though the ground is uneven and can be challenging to walk on. There are some pretty spots. There is a picnic table and an outhouse bathroom at the trailhead.

Beautiful place to trail ride! Has water and a bathroom and plenty enough room for horse trailer parking. Trail Map is online!

It's a pretty hard sandy hike that is distracted by the poorly marked trails but worth the end result. Go see for yourself, u won't be disappointed.

According to the park manager, there are very few visitors here. Lots of hiking and horse trails but not always marked well with blazes. It would be helpful to have maps along the trails to indicate where one is and how far back to the trail head. For some reason not much wildlife was seen here, perhaps due to being near highways. A 75th FWC anniversary geocache is listed being here but has not been maintained for years and is missing now.

We came at 9:30 am on a Saturday in August and the trail was locked. We are disappointed.

Download the map before you go. Trailhead starts out pretty well marked but found one key turn without a sign; look for the yellow (almost white) blazes. Trails we walked were old roads and were mostly easily passable, soft sand being the biggest challenge and some near the beginning have been furrowed so it's a case of walking between to keep from twisting an ankle. Overall had a good experience having the whole place to ourselves on a Friday. Bring plenty of water; we each sucked down over a liter in temps in the mid-eighties. Saw some wildlife: gopher tortoise, turkey, a big bird (maybe owl) dropping out of the tree above us and quickly disappearing, and the ripples on the water of maybe a turtle or small gator that spotted us before we it. Overall happy we went and experienced the unique beauty of central Florida's scrub land.

Horseback riding on interesting terrain full of wildflowers. Saw deer and Gopher tortoise. Had a great time!

Another undiscovered gem! This WEA has lots of trails, some shaded, some open sky.
