Hastings Island Hunting Preserve

Had the chance to visit Hastings Island Hunting Preserve this weekend with some duck hunting buddies, and it was an awesome experience. The clubhouse is great—they offer warm food, drinks, and a relaxing and clean spot to hang out. The fields are in decent shape, the birds are beautiful, and the easy walking made the whole day enjoyable. You can tell they’ve really thought through how to make the experience smooth and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

There are so many great things I can say about this place. I won a hunt through cwa and took my son for his first hunt. We arrived late due to passing storm and the women at the desk totally understood. Got all checked in and she explained everything. Went and picked up our rented dog "gunner" (who was amazing) It was a steady drizzle the entire time we were out but still managed to get one bird. I felt successful because my goal was to take him out, watch the dog work, and hopefully get a bird. We went to turn in our dog and the sweet lady I think felt bad the we only got one. I let her know we wanted to turn it in for a smoked one. That is when I think the owner offered us 3 smoked birds! A great experience all the way around and definitely worth the 2 hour drive! Definitely where we will bird hunt this fall.... ❤💕❤

Generally a great hunting ground. Can be crowded some mornings and lines other mornings but you can generally hunt every time you go and still enjoy it

I keep coming to this place it's amazing and fun for the entire group. Have had time we got a few birds and it was still fun. Just be careful if the fog is in May be a while before they let hunters in the fields. The food is good as well I hope they add the ability to take debit or credit card. If you get chance check this place out for some good bird hunting experience.

I was passing time on Google Earth, and found it! Hastings Island! The place where the best memories of me and my Dad were made. I was just a kid. I had remembered the location to be in Fairfield, but I guess that's because we took Hwy 12 from 80 on the way there from Fremont. From 47, to 52 years ago, I hunted this amazing place with my Dad and German Shorthair Pointer, Heidi. It was the only place that my Dad showed me patience. Teaching me gun safety, field etiquette, respect for nature, and dog training and more. I remember many cold mornings I would wake up before him, waiting for him to "wake me up" to jump in the truck and head out to Hasting's Island. So many great times! At one point they had a picture of my dog, on point, in the room with fireplace. What a magical place! I can still smell the mud on my boots drying from the truck heater on the way home... or I guess that could have been my wet, sock-clad feet...

Have hunted here for years sense I was about 8 with my father. Amazing place to hunt and take friends for special occasions or to teach as well. The staff here are amazing and the hunts allways fun and enjoyable. The terrain throughout the property is well maintained and not to difficult to traverse.
