They have micromanaged this place to death. A few years ago there were birds everywhere now all you see are the local common ones. I don't know what birds they are trying to attract with their management practices but they have failed miserably.

LW Ridge

Lake Wales Ridge National Wildlife Refuge does not have public access. Just north of it however is Lake Wales Ridge Wildlife and Environmental Area that is open to hiking and horseback riding. It would be easy to confuse the two of them.

Hunting was good. Killed two bucks in first hour. Mosquitoes were bad tho.

Very much untouched. We saw bunnies running around the edges of the fences.
