Beautiful area comprised of oak hammocks, cypress heads, and grassy areas. A bit crowded during hunting season, but lots of good spots to hike and explore.

Rode through to road 10 then down to the 60. Very easy packed sand. Saw a number of birds, a deer, and a racer snake. There are bathrooms near the entrance to the 60. The only downside was a lack of shade.

I have grown up hunting and visiting three lakes and it is by far one of the most diverse ecosystems I have seen. Here’s a few pictures from over the years. I hope to see more improvements to help better this WMA and this wonderful ecosystem.

I had a nice time hiking here. I completed the south loop and the stretch of trail from the Lake Jackson tower for about 9 miles. The loop was marked as 5.5 miles and the north loop is marked at 5.7 and joins the south loop in the middle for a giant figure 8. The Florida Trail runs through the property too and both loops use it as part of their route.

Am amazing expansive wilderness area full of beautiful pristine prairies of unbelievable scale, narrow meandering forests that break up the prairies and lots of lakes. One of Florida's hidden gems. Beautiful trails and camping for all types.

Love the serenity and solitude out there. Great place to connect with God and His beautiful creation. Also a great place to take your wife and get away from the crazy world, or to take your kids or grandkids and show them that the concrete jungle is way overrated and let them feel how things should be. Love this place 🙏❤

One of the most beautiful campsites I've ever been to in Florida. I don't want to reveal where because some things are just better kept secrets & up for your own discovery. The property is stunning, and encompasses pinelands that are being well maintained, as well as oak hammocks, prairie and wetlands, and cabbage palm forest. A special place to hike for the day and enjoy time out in nature. Really a wonderful and special location. Driving in down 441 was also treat, a reminder of Florida's country heritage - the bird watching here is top notch. Scissor tailed kites, Caracara eating a coyote on the side of the road, a giant Osprey nest with both parents in it, sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, and eastern bluebirds. I wish everyone could have the chance to experience and appreciate Florida's rural beauty and not just our white sand beaches. SLOW down, appreciate and enjoy this place we all call home.
