Another great place to watch for birds. A raised platform would allow tri pods and other equipment if you have any. All kinds of water birds, field birds, hawks and eagles.
Plenty of migratory water fowl in the spring. Long trails with good Sandusky Bay viewing.
The wildlife is spectacular. An amazing abundance of Eagles, waterfowl, and wildlife.
I go there for the orchids but there weren't any blooming this year. Whoever is mowing along the ditches is going a horrible job. You should mow later in July because you're mowing down orchids🙄🙄🙄
Nice over look for bird watching
Tough to rate this one. The building that was at the end of the signs leading to a visitor center was a mess and nobody was there. The reserve itself is a nice area. We did have a nice picnic lunch nearby on the overlook at Donald Thompson Wetland where we saw various birds and eagles. I would strongly suggest going to the overlook and not worrying about following the signs.
There is no access to the lake, or any walking area here ☹️. There are signs saying that it is private property so it is really just a dead end, although a nice quiet place.
Wonderful place to see initially as I drive up to visit this beautiful MetroPark and wildlife area and to check and see what it was about. I was able to have lunch and get organized here briefly but fully intend on returning to this area soon to go on the what-could-be picturesque trails.
